PARATY REGION : THE REAL BRAZILIAN PARADISE
Paraty is an handsome preserved colonial city situated 4h south of Rio by car. But maybe the real treasure of the region is the Joatinga National Park, where you can hike several days in a luxurious vegetation to reach wild & deserted beaches and small fisherman villages. Great sea food is served for diner and we sleep in typical but cosy accomodations...! We will know the beaches of Praia do Sono, Ponta Negra, Pouso de Cajaiba, Martins de Sa... And the objective is to reach the Saco de Mamangua, a kind of fjord on 8 kilometers, with a unique ecosystem and peaceful environment.
The ideal is to hike 3 days until the Saco de mamangua where we could stay more 2 days to enjoy its nature, its mangrove swamp by canoe, its natural waterfalls, or the splendid view from the Sugar Loaf mountain, and then we go back to Paraty by boat to enjoy Paraty Bay. It is the perfect place to relax and to feel on holidays. The full hike requires a good level of hiking.
